Established in 2017, Forty Three Shop is a bustling co-operative shop in Ilfracombe's artist quarter. We showcase 100% handmade work by local artisans. Offering customers direct access to unique, high-quality pieces at fair prices.
The heart of Forty Three is our artisan members. Not only do they create exceptional work. They also welcome you to the shop, on hand to share their knowledge and passion.
As a resident artist you'll benefit from a dedicated space to sell your work. Be supported by a close-knit community of fellow artists. Build a new customer base and gain valuable exposure for your work.

Our Offer
A dedicated space in store with flexibility to move within the shop if needed.
Zero commission on sales. You keep 100% of your profits.
Forty Three Shop is open 7 days a week.
We only sell in store.
No online sales but we are very happy to promote your online shop if you have one.
We have a workshop space available for use on the shop mezzanine.
A supportive close-knit community of fellow artists and makers.
Expand your network within the artist community.
Gain valuable exposure an build a new customer base.
Promotion on our growing social media channels.
Featured on the Ilfracombe Art Trail every year.
About You
- You are a local North Devon artist or maker.
- Your work must be 100% handmade.
- You are actively creating, making and selling your work.
- You have availability to work in our busy shop.
Your Commitment
£60 per month (£12.50 per week) paid monthly.
2 days in the shop (or 4 half days) per month.
We run a flexible monthly rota to cover our shop opening hours. You can arrange to work full days or half days but a monthly commitment of 2 days a month total is expected. This allow us to keep the shop open 7 days a week.One months notice should you wish to leave.
This will allow us to manage our shop commitments and your leaving.
